The rocky western shore of Lauttasaari island, a short bridge or metro ride from downtown, faces the strait toward Espoo and is popular with spinning anglers targeting pike-perch (zander) as they hunt baitfish along the drop-offs. Perch and pike are common bycatch, especially early morning and at dusk.
